Give every position a job.
A balanced starting five covers point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward and center. Compare passing and speed for guards, shooting for perimeter players, and defense and rebounding for your frontcourt.
Type matchups affect physical interactions and special moves. A high overall rating helps, but it does not replace a useful mix of roles. Read each player card before choosing.
Watch the shot meter.
Hold J or Space to charge a shot, then release near the green area of the meter. A rushed release or a late release can reduce your chance of scoring. Distance and nearby defenders also matter.
Use K to pass when a teammate has a better position. Near the basket, holding Shift while shooting can trigger a dunk.
Take the ball back.
On defense, the shoot button becomes a block attempt. K switches the controlled defender, L attempts a steal, and Shift provides turbo. Watch the player indicator before moving so you know who you control.
The special meter fills through play. Use I or E when it is ready, and check the player’s special move instead of assuming every type behaves the same way.
Make room for the court.
On a phone, use the on-screen stick and action buttons. Landscape orientation gives the court more horizontal space. Pause before changing browser tabs or reloading; an unfinished match may not be recoverable.
